Thanks Allie, that link will really come in handy. I think I'll print it out when I go window shopping for my 30g.

You and me, both, Allie! I see my hooligans didn't make the cut.

the majority of the species I keep didn't make the cut either lol, I had to pick the biggest bullies of Lake Malawi for my tanks... but I love them! I have one semi-peaceful tank (the one w/ my peacocks and the Hongi breeding group)

I'm with you, Angela. I never meant to have a tank full of unrepentant criminals. That's just one facet of the species to which I am drawn!

Allie,
Of course all these sites contradict each other. Thank you though. At least one site validates my desire to put a pair of rams in my tank. So you've fed the fire here.

Of course they do, lol. They are pretty peaceful from my short experience with just one with 3 German blue ram the long finned type and some corydoras.

Allie,
If a tank had corys and Gbrs what else would you put in to maybe swim around the top/middle of the tank?

Some sort of tetra would be cool. Any schooling fish would look nice.

We had almost that exact set-up and it was my favorite tank until the Ram died.
I think we had the Ram,a couple of small cories, Skunk ones maybe, and a school of tetras that had white tips on their fins. That Ram was the prettiest fish we've ever had, I wish they weren't so freakin' sensitive. Its scared us off ever keeping one again.

Hey I'm glad to hear the setup works. I'm thinking maybe an apisto would be hardier? But I', relieved to know that the cories can coexsist with rams.
