as i type this my rainbow cichlids are laying eggs
i cant find much info on this on the net
they are in a 10 gal with 2 danios in as tagrget fish
hopefully videoing it too
any tips??
last time after day 2 the eggs where growing a little i came home from work and the tank was a mess , and eggs gone.

should i take male out after hes done his job
as i know mum should look after the eggs?
any tips

these guys need alot more rrom than a ten gallon tank. I would suggest you upgrade the tank as a start to at least 29 gallons. Anyways, the eggs hatch in a couple of days as the parents guard them. They will then be guided into a pit or cave constructed by the parent or pre constructed. The fry will be guarded by the parents from then until they reach a couple months old. Feed them liquid fry food after they utilize the egg sac, which should be a bout 3-4 days after hatching. Use a thin PVC tube and squirt the food into the school of fry. I cant find any information either, try your LFS, they should know a good amount on your cichlids.

some of the eggs (10% to20%) ish have or are still white the male picks them off the wall and eats them

Maybe they're duds. My cories do it all the time when they're duds (which is always)
