She is killing me! I know they don't eat for so many days while they have the babies in their mouth but its her first batch of fry, she looks so pitiful when I feed the others in the tank... I actually noticed though today when I gave them the spiulla flakes she shook her mouth w/ it open a little and managed to get a little food in her mouth? Its been a week tomm that she has been holding... So if she did this today w/ those flakes, every time I have seen her shake when I have gave those little flakes she was getting min amts of food?
hopefully? I know its nature... I guess thats why she was so "fat" my husband made fun of her being the cow of the tank up until she started holding.... I guess they fatten up so they have fat to live off of for the 3 weeks....

Yea, I think so and you could get her nutrients through liquid vitamins like vita-chem.

I didn't think of vitimins.. I should have picked some up today! I will have to get her some...

Cool. Yea, we got our first mouthbrooders last Sat. so I guess I'll be the same way when they're old enough to spawn while he's holding the fry. At least it's only 10 days with him.

Trust me they will be fine. Lake Malawi African cichlids are tough/hardy fish. I have seen my blue hap female while holding suck in a flake or two. So I wouldn't worry about it too much. They naturally know what to do.
