cichlid

i would want to know one of cichlid his tail got eaten off from another cichlid and also the one is effected is the back of his tail is red color i just put it in another tank inself will he recover and grown his tail fin back to normal and should i buy something to make it recover again? any ideas

Get some melafix that should help with the ripped fin.

I agree! Put the injured fish in a quarintine tank and take out active carbon and treat w/ melifix (for one of mine it took about 2 weeks to get it fully treated) it depends on the injuries... w/ just a tail it shouldn't take as long Melifix is GREAT stuff!!

Is Melafix and Pimafix safe to use in a tank with fry?

i would suggest NEVER to use chems with fry i lost a few due to a minor amount used

Thanks! Actually, there's no need anymore. The fish's eye has cleared up. I think it was just an injury. Did some water changes and added some salt.
