OK, at some point or another it will be the 7th anniversary of the day i started keeping fish. But cha know what I think it's time for personility change wouldn't you? After seven years (almost) of neons tetras, corydoras, rasbora, platy, "harmless", COMMUNITY... IM SICK OF IT!!!

anyone have tips for the beginner regarding dwarf african cichlids? My local PetSmart and WalMart carry them. What would make good beginners fish in that category? Minimum tank size?

Oscars are a pretty tuff fish... They would require a minimum of a 55 gallon tank and some research on your part. As far as cold blooded killers they fit the bill nicely and also have very distinct personalities. They are American Cichlids though.

I personally would not get anything but an Oscar or two. I have had them in the past and they are very rewarding and ruthless fish..

P.S. watch your fingers when they get bigger.... LOL!!!

awww poor oscars lol..they got a rap like a rottie sometimes!! my boys will eat outta ya hand and we have touched them a time or two..they reconize us and deffinately have their own personalities..so they eat anything smaller than they are hehehehe...but im falling in love with the betta's also...happy fish hunting!! ps..we have dempseys also, they are more vicious than the oscars sometimes
