I know for a fact that the Kenyi is a male, and I don't the Lab as of yet. However they are shimming in the tank. The other fish are acting perfectly normal. All are still eating and swimming normally. My water parameters are: Nitrates 10ppm, nitrites 0.5ppm, we have no ammonia test yet, clorine is neg, the ph is 7.8, the hardness is normal, I just did a water change yesterday and vaccumed the tank... all the maintence is well kept...
Is this normal for cichlids?

depending on whats going on. the fish may be shimming due to some other fish is in his area. two times they do the shimmy, one is when mating with a female aka shimmy shimmy shake shake when they do that the male is in front of the female, he is trying to get his sperm in her mouth to the eggs... The other time is some one is his/her area and they want them gone its kinda like shimmy then attack showing power kinda thing. i see it in my tank all the time with my one male acei he does it to a few of the other male fish and he also has mated with his female acei in front of me... (i told them to find a rock and hide but they didnt listen)
