Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know a good place to find dwarf cichlids besides rams. I am interested in a few of the Apistogramma varieties. The only place I have found them is online on aquabid, but once you add on shipping they are soooo expensive. I checked Live Aquaria too and their selection is very limmited. Most of their dwarf cichlids are out of stock. Does anyone have any other ideas? I thought about seeing if my LFS would do a special order for me, but I think it may be even more expensive to go that route.

I have ordered from aquabid, and find it works for me. It might just be me, and the fact that I am always looking for the unusual things at my LFS also, but even after shipping, it is about the same, or less expensive to buy from aquabid, and I have such neat selection.

For example. Last year I saw puntius denisonii at the LFS for $45 each! I'd never seen them before, and asked about them. Well the explanition was that they were hard to get, and those were the only ones they would have for quite some time....Well I didn't get any... I am so glad. Last week I bought 12 from Corysrus, they all made it and are healthy. They cost $15 each, and with shipping it came to $24.95 each. OK not a whole lot of savings, but some, and I plan to find homes for 6 of them, as I really only want 6....
Last spring I purchased some fish from a guy in HI, I just placed an e-mail to him to see what he might have in the way of cichlids for sale. I'll let you know

The HI connection said he doesn't have any cichlids at this time, he sells through aquabid and doesn't have a web page. I wish you good luck in finding what you want.

Thanks for the help. I actually ordered two different apistsogramma pairs today off of aquabid. I am so excited. I have never ordered fish online before and I hope that they arrive safe and healthy!
