Hi all,

I have 4 African Cichlids, one Pleco and an African Dwarf frog. I had mixed in tetra's with them and I found out they just dont mix. I currently have one Molly and a black striped tetra which seem to be doing fine with the Cichlids. I guess my question is what other species of fresh water fish can be mixed with Cichlids?

it all depends on the size of your tank first of all. and if you have a proper size tank i would only keep cichlids with cichlids. its not that good of an idea to mix other types of fish with them being that they can become very aggressive and territorial

Thanks for you quick reply, but my tanks is 29g and the Cichlids are pretty much full grown. I have been told mostly the same as to what you are telling me but I heard that catfish can be mixed in with Cichlids.

what are the sizes of all the fish that you have in the tank?

I would say they from 3-4 inches.

if i were you i would stay with the fish that you have. your on the edge of overcrowding your tank being that cichlids need quite a bit of space for each specimen. so just play it safe and stay with what you have.
you can always get another tank and then you can get a whole new batch of fish.
