chinese algae eater

we originally had 2 chinese algae eaters. we had them in the same tank initially and noticed that 1 is always chasing the other so we moved the bully to another tank. everything was fine until we upgraded to bigger tanks. we noticed that the bullied CAE is not eating anymore nor foraging. eventually we found it dead and emaciated.

now we also noticed the bully and the bigger of the 2 exhibiting the same, not foraging / eating....it HAS lost a lot of weight, it used to be fat. so now we are just playing a waiting game to see if it will die on us eventually

just wondering what could be the cause of this behaviour?

im sorry for the loss of your cae

If you havent already, do a test of the water to rule that out....then test the pH in both tanks to be sure the new tank isnt much different and it wasnt a ph shock...whenever something goes wrong , testing the water to make sure a mini cycle didnt sneak up on you is best then go from there...I hope things work out!

What size tank is it in? What are you feeding it? Does it have hidey holes to hide in? What other fish are in the tank with it? Try putting a shriimp pellet or a bottom feeder omnivore tablet in for it. Also, what temp is the tank?
