Hi Cherryshrimp!
WELCOME to FISHLORE !
I answered some questions on your other post, but will continue it here as well. Cherry shrimp eat almost anything....They eat algae, but don't try to grow it. You can feed them algae wafers, shrimp pellets, tropical fish flakes, they eat anything your fish don't pick up. They are busy little scavengers. IF one dies, they will eat it, and if a fish dies, they will start eating THAT!

Though I wouldn't leave it there, as you have to maintain super low nitrates, so you don't want to ever over feed your tank...or leave things like a dead fish in there.....You have to be really good about testing for
ammonia,
nitrite, and
nitrate.
One of the first things you will need, then, is a
API Master
test kit. NEVER - NEVER - NEVER get your shrimp and add them to an uncycled tank!!! So go to articles at the top of this page, and look up the
nitrogen cycle, read it and when you start your tank, you will know how to cycle it so it is safe for your fish, and shrimp. Use the test kit to monitor all the water conditions, and be sure if you want shrimp, to do water changes in your tank to keep the nitrates down to between 5 &10.... Good Luck!
