If I haven't said it before, welcome to FishLore
I'm so sorry that happened.
At this point, do frequent water changes, keep the water pristine to try and help prevent infection.
It'd be a good idea to use Fish Protector and Vit-chem also.
Garlic guard is good for their immune system.

Keep an eye out, fish will sometimes pick on weak or hurt fish, be prepared to move him if you have to.

Good luck, I hope he feels better soon.

I agree with Lucy. Clean clean water. Stress coat is a good thing to use too, it helps heal damaged fins and tissue.

I use melafix for my goldfish. I had one that got cat bit. She had two big chunks taken out of her - one on each side. Now, you can't hardly even tell she was hurt. I'm not sure how melafix would do in your tank, though.

Welcome to Fish Lore yask89. Hate to hear your fish isn't feeling well. Not much I can add to the above posters. Best of luck and I hope it's going to be ok.

Not sure I'd go with salt.
Sometimes salt can be an irritant, IMO.
I know humans and fish are very different but I wouldn't want salt on an open wound.

I'm sure others may disagree and it'll be interesting to see what their experience with salt and this type of situation is.

Best of luck.
