can cherry barbs and hybrid zebra danios ("glofish") breed with each other

hi i have 2 male cherry barbs and 2 glofish(zebra danios) and i waz wondering if its possible for them to breed tho idk the danios genders yet

okay mi only thinking on tht is tht they r both eggg layers and one of the "glofish" which is red and seems to enjoi hanging out with the cherry barbs more thn its own kind. i think tht the fish think they r of the same species

Sometimes fish of the same shape will hang out (school) together. But since they are not the same kind of fish they will not mate.

Animals that can hybridize are very few and far between. The most well known fish (outside aquariums) is the striped bass. Hybrids were purposefully developed by crossing stiped bass with white bass. This was done back in the 70's and 80's as a safety net incase the wild striped bass population went extinct. Both have the same scientific first name (genus) - marone. If you wanted to create hybrids, thats your best bet - finding fish that are in the same genus.
