if given the chance, anything will eat the eggs. It is best to remove the expecting parents to a separate CYCLED 10 gallon tank containing a
bare bottom (no gravel) and java moss for the mother to spawn over. When the spawn is over, remove the parents and put them back into the main tank. The eggs should hatch between 24-48 hours later. I believe the young have an egg sac they use up for the first few days after birth, and it is visible as a yellow sac. When you notice the sac diminish (not completely), begin feeding the young newly hatched baby
brine shrimp or commercial fry food. As far as I know, the young are hardy like their parents and easy to raise. They grow to about an inch and a half in about a two months.
