Introducing Oscar!

Well, I went to Petco to look at fish & there was a cat rescue there. They had kittens & 3 adult cats. Well they were giving away the adults because they had no more room & were euthanizing 3 on Monday. Well my mom couldn't risk them being killed, so we took one. I'd like to introduce Oscar, the black & white kitty! This is #14 for us...

Awww he's a cutie! Glad he got adopted .

I tried to adopt a 13 year old deaf cat from Petsmart a few years back, they said we had too many pets (6 dogs and 2 cats, all vaccinated, fixed etc). I knew someone that volunteered there and heard that the poor thing was euthanized by the agency, oy.

It's spread out over 4 floors, so it's not bad.

14 floors You either own an apartment building or have an extremely large house lol. Either way that makes sense for that many cats lol.

We have 5 litter pans over the whole house, and he wasn't too happy for pics! lol
He's also partially blind in one eye, so the flash may bother him. Oh and btw, I forgot to mention he's only a year old.

Exact same experience with humane society. Infuriates me! Clearly if you come with proof of vet papers on vaccinations, spaying, etc., then you're a better candidate than euthanasia. This is why we're going to foster.

I thought so too...I've worked at vet clinics, fostered for a dog rescue, have all great references-they didn't even want to come do a home check. Sigh, waste of a life. There are some GREAT rescues and animal shelters but some are really full of themselves.

Aw, what a cute kitty. I thought I had my hands full with 2 cats but 14?
Do any of your cats go after your fish? I personally feel like I'm constantly picking cats off the tank lid and pulling them away from the tanks lol

Do you have a Christmas tree up in your house? And do any of the cats attack it. I can't keep one cat out of our tree, I can only imagine 14 all attacking it.

You're lucky none of your cats attack your fish, I have to lock the cats in the other room when I'm doing water changes lol

We had one incident about 14 years ago when my then kitten (now 15 year old) cat climbed the tree & kncked it down. It was a 10 ft. tall tree too. But aside from a couple broken ornamants, it was okay. And she never did it again. We have a fake tree now, when we used to have a live one, all the cats would do was drink the water from the tree holder.
