We have a year old kitten and she loves to poop on the floor. We have a separate liter box just for her but we can't seem to get her to use it. Our other cat 7+ years old has no porblem using the boxes. The kicker is our kitten (TJ) was litter box trained by her mom and used to use it all the time but now won't go near them. Does anyone have any ideas why or how to fix this problem

Have you cleaned the litter box with anything that might have left an unpleasant smell only your kitty can smell? Does it urinate in the box?

have you had the kitten from a young age or just recently, it sounds like the kitten hasn't been properly trained by her mum, is she an indoor cat only or does she go out? it will be easier to sort the problem out if she is an outdoor cat, being an indoor cat is more difficult we have three cats but they were all trained by there mum the only thing i can suggest if she is an indoor cat is to place her in the tray after mealtime so she gets used to going in the tray, try changing the cat litter also, like the food they can be very fussy if they don't like the smell or colour they wont go in there good luck let me know how you get on
