Just want to introduce you to Mia's new baby brother Don't know how old he is.
A lady where my husband works brought him to work and was going to take him to the pound because the mother got run over. So my husband brought him home today We do know he hasn't been weaned yet so he is getting kitty milk.
Carol
My husband named him Angus says he's going to need to be strong to survive and so needs a strong name. He's getting kitty formula and is doing well. He's also getting eggs.
Carol
Angus suits him! what a great name, good luck with both the kitties. I just recently helped a friend raise a 4 day old kitten, it is NOT easy but VERY rewarding!!!
OH MY GOODNESS ... Carol! It's like with my squirrels lol ... I have 3 orphaned squirrels ... and you have 3 cats (at least 2 of which are orphaned as well - don't know if the third one was too). God ... the kitty is SO CUTE! Man ... I can't even express this in words! I get crazy when I see tiny kitties like this! If it were brought to me, I'd NEVER give it away! (Even if I had 2 cats already - which I do, in fact, lol). Carol ... you're keeping the little cuttie ... RIGHT!? You have to! Poor baby's mom is dead BUT ... he's extremely lucky he has you now
P.S. Gosh he's so tiny-bitty! And so furry! LOL! I L-O-V-E the kitty! Does any of your other cats play with the kitten?

Manicivy, YES! It is extremely rewarding I've raised 3 baby squirrels (though they were not as young as only 4 days) and it was a lot of work - but I didn't mind it at all. It was all 100% WORTH it.
Mia has decided it's her duty to keep him clean after meals(I think she likes his formula LOL) she licks him all over and even holds him down with her paw to wash his face. I keep trying to get pics but they are so fast they(the pics) aren't coming out good.
Actually Isabella we have four cats two outside(Buddy and Mama cat) and two inside(Mia and angus)

And ... 4 cats!!! WOW! Well, that's how it is for people with good hearts I don't mind a lot of pets as they all make me happy.
mia knows just what it's like to recieve the help they need and deserve-- she's a survivor herself!! that is oh so cute!! i hope you catch a pic of it!! LILA

How is that for creative? How is that for creative? How is that for creative? How is that for creative? How is that for creative? How is that for creative? How is that for creative?
Buddy was an abandoned kitten that my son took up with 13 yrs ago, he has been neutered and was an inside cat for a while but was never really happy nor did he eat well until he was allowed to be outside. He doesn't wander and keeps us mouse free(you should see the presents he leaves for me . Mama cat came to us pregnant, after she had her kittens and they were weaned she was spayed. she is very sweet natured and you can see pictures of her in the thread Mama Cat.. from last summer. she shares homes with us and a neighbor it seems (she gets fed at both places). I really don't like to have my cats outside but some due to their beginnings in life are not suited to be inside cats and this seems to be the case with Buddy and Mama Cat.
I have to tell you a story... We have become parents to a 4yr old miniature Dachund(sp?)(his name is collin) who apparently has been abused by an older man. My reasons for thinking this is because if my husband reaches to pet him too fast he cringes, and he snaps food from his hand while he is extremely gentle with me. Also all our young men visitors can love on him to their hearts content and he has no problem with it. And he loves all women. anyway... Collin has a red cloth bone toy that is filled with that fluffy white filling. He was carrying it around in his mouth and Angus was playing with him, when I went into the other room I heard collin start to growl and then Angus began to growl... Wondering what was going on because they never fight I went back into the kitchen and low and behold.. here set Colin with his bone in his mouth but he looked like he was foaming at the mouth. Angus had torn a little corner trying to get Collins bone and pulled some of the fiber fill out and Collin was trying to pick it up and hold it in his mouth with his bone. He was the funniest sight with that white stuff all over his face. Well I re-stuffed his toy and sewed it back up and he's guarding it with his life
Angus and Mia are fine, Angus didn't pay much attention to the tree he was too busy taking Collins bone.
Happy New Year to you too!
It's never dull around here LOL
Carol
You have such a lovely family ((Carol)). Buddy is soo cool looking. What eyes he has, huh? Angus' pic gives me warm fuzzies. Even his picture oozes love.
You're right...some cats do need to go out. I don't like cats going outside either but that's not the case when the environment outside is safe for them (no cars, loose dogs, sick strays). Ideally, imo, cats would be able to enjoy the outdoors safely (living indoors) but that can't usually happen because we live in the city, most of us.
How sad for Collin to have started his life like that. With the love and attention he'll have for the rest of his life now, though, there's a good chance that he'll get over cringing in time. It was easy to picture the kitchen scene, lol. Angus was growling...very funny. Maybe he thought for a min that Collin had gone sick.
TY for introducing me to everyone
I just realized, you have 14 tanks too!! Wow. I thought I was busy! I feel better now, heh.
Actually I have 19 tanks, some of them are temporary. I have three different kinds of Bristlenose fry in grow-out tanks
I don't think Angus was concerned for Collin so much as concerned because he wouldn't give him the toy
Heres an updated pic of Angus, hes still a little small for his age which we estimate at 10 weeks now.Sad to say his pretty blue eyes are turning a mischievious green.
And since collin sits with me while I post heres a picture of him too
Your little kitty looks like its going to be very naughty - but that makes them cute! and your little sausage! no no no please i cant handle it any more - carol, im going to book a ticket to america tonight and steal your little puppy!
LOL
could never do that but two lovely little critters!!!
I just posted this post and it's not here. Well, I'm having pc problems...usb won't stay recognized.
Anyway, forget the cute animals...I see BOOKS, lol
I'm a bit of an avid book reader <cough> Erm, just a bit. I have 500 books behind me (I know because I tried to enter them all into a relational database).
What book is it that's open in the pic? heh. Apparently, you like to read as well
Back to the cute animals...
19 tanks. I promise to never complain about having too much to do in your presence <g>
HOW DO YOU DO IT? My gawd...
If I didn't have such a bad back, this wouldn't seem as daunting to me as it does. I also am a brand new fish mom, only since Oct 18th, so I haven't developed systems yet for the tank cleanings etc.
If you could, maybe there's another thread or board this would belong in more (but if you post elsewhere, will you give me a heads up to where it is?)... can you explain how you go about cleaning 19 tanks
My 10 gal (that's sick right now), the 2 gal glass container (refuse to call it a tank, heh) that Zen's in now and the 1 1/2 QT. container the ghost shrimp live in....to clean all these, just these, is a challenge. Hard to imagine 19.
Ok, I'm in the cat section so will quit with the fish talk.
I thought Angus' eyes would change. He's soo young still. ((Collin)) sitting on your lap. Animals know who loves them
(((((Carol))))))
Mama cat gets fixed tomorrow. I'm excited. One problem done, 4 to go, heh.
I'm resisting the urge to bring the kittens into my office with me, one at a time, for some one on one time. They are SO people friendly already. Wish I could share pics! My dig camera is about the size of a credit card though, heh.
Namaste Dear One and Doolittle (that is the dr's name who talked to animals right?)
Karyn
Lacey is a lovely name Miles but she's been Mia for several months now
Yes books!!! My husband and I both are avid readers, actually thats his side of the bed those are his glasses Angus is sitting in. He is reading the dresden Files by Jim Butcher. They are really good. My side of the bed has books stacked up also but less neat
Yep Dolittle, I do talk to them and sometines I think they talk back.
As for tank maintenance- I love it! I have arthritis in my hands and the warm water feels wonderful so I'm always sticking my hands in for something. I do water changes with a hose my husband contrived. Kind of like a Python but he put a connection for the siphon on one end and a connection on the other end for the faucet. The end for the faucet goes outside and I siphon all my tanks down then I pull the outside end in and connect to the faucett and refill(always dechlorinating of course) When needed I rinse filters, trim plants etc. BUT.. the fry tanks get daily water changes
