Last spring, we had to put my beloved shih tzu down, he was old and was suffering with his heath problems.

Than....wham... a month later, my 5 year old cat (the one in my avatar) started breathing heavy, took him to the vet....he had a enlarged heart and died 2 days later.

Omg.......triple wham, my other cat fell ill about 3 months later. She died within a couple weeks of kidney failure

It has taken a long time to finally feel ready for a new furry pet. But, for the past month, I've been walking around the house saying, I want a kitty. lol

3 days ago, I looked on Craigs List....someone was giving away a beautiful 9 month old cat. I showed her pic to my husband and he said, well, go get her
I told him I really wanted a baby kitten this time since the others were about that age when we got them as strays.

Bless my husband, says....just go get her, we'll get baby later, we're a 2 cat family anyway!

Hi! I am so sorry to hear of the loss of so many pets in a relatively short time. I know how that can tear your heart out!

Now you must be so excited to be getting a kitty, and another little gaffer after that!!! It will be so much fun!

I am a crazy cat lady ( I have 4) as well as crazy fish lady...I think it is way more fun to have at least 2 , they can be companions, and they are so goofy to watch.

omg im soooo sorry to hear about ur loss.. thats insane! but im glad to hear ure ready to move on and its awesome that u already found a new furry feline friend.... i love cats.. had atleast 4 at all times.. until my mom became ill.. so cant have kitties anymore because of the litterbox and all the diseases that theyre filled with

but congrats!!!!!

Thank you everyone! It sure is nice having a kitty around again.

She was quite shy and insecure when we brought her home, this is her 4th home since she was born, not because she is a problem cat, she is very sweet. The first was where she was born, the next they found out the kids were allergic to her so they sent her to stay with a relative to find a home for her.
She is slowly coming around, she comes when called and is starting to play.
Her name is Elly, I will post pics soon.

you're a kitty mumma again, can't wait till you have some pics of her. Her name is really cute too. I'm happy for you, and your hubby gets a from me too! I love cats (don't have any) but I'd have cats, dogs, bunnies, birds, horses, well you get the idea..... (got though)
