Welcome to FL! I haven't seen you around here before.

I have a 7 inch striped raphael catfish in a 75 gallon. It's not a fish you'll see much of. They are nocturnal and you'll only see them briefly at feeding time. They're quite tough yet peaceful so they can live with a variety of tank mates as long as tank size is adequate. They get 8-10 inches I believe so I'd go with at least a 55 gallon for one.

Thanks for that, its very interesting because on the majority of the care sheets online they say 30 gallon. Iv got a 33 gallon thats pretty empty as i gave away 10 and 5 got eaten. Are they compatable with fish such as neon tetra or Cardinals?

Hello I don't own either catfish however I have recently been researching the spotted raphaels. Neons and cardinals have a good chance of becoming a midnight feist for a striped and there is a chance with the spotted.
I was tempted to buy some spotted raphaels as they stay smaller, around 4-5", sometimes bigger, and I was going to keep 3 of them in a 34G alone.
As stated, they are nocturnal and not active in the day.

You could try it with tetras that get a little larger than neons or cardinals, such as lemons, pristellas, or diamonds.

Hello there! I have one at the moment. He is roughly 4 inches, and lives in a 35g alone. I reccomend you dont keep him with cichlids. Just from my experience. He is still recovering from a GT that attacked him.

They are very amazing fish and my favorite catfish. They are really fun and at night when you turn the lights off they wander around the tank. They're really fun. They get roughly to 8 inches, so it'll be fin in your 33g.

I have one named Raphy! He's my pride n joy! His only tankmate is a Crowntail betta named Chance who doesn't bother him at all. He loves to hide behind my heater!
