What kind is this?

Heres a link to the site.

http://www.aquariumfish.net/catalog_...htm#synodontis

The very top upside down catfish. Is this the kind that gets large?

RIght under is the featherfin which i know can get 8 inches.

But what type is this?

ITs the very first catfish that says upside down

Thanks

There are several synodontis, some get large and aggressive.
The true specie name of the fish is the only way to be sure that this is the smaller cat.
I have no idea what a "synodontis nyassae" is that is listed in their videos,
unless they meant Synodontis njassae, which, according to planetcatfish.com, gets 7.5" and to me,
doesn't look like the cat in the videos with the white edging...

The original, good community tank member of upside down catfish is called "Synodontis nigriventris".
Google Synodontis nigriventris for photos and info.
If unsure of the specie of the catfish, I wouldn't buy it...

Then I'd say that:
Syno. petricola
http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog...species_id=857

Syno. nigriventris (upside down catfish)
http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog...s_id=857<br />

Syno. lucipinnis (false cuckoo catfish)
http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog...species_id=103

are probably what you are looking for. They look similar and stay smaller.
Cool looking fish.
To see them out and about in your tank, they like to be kept in groups of 3 or more of the same species.
Beware of the common names when shopping for them, tho....(I probably shouldn't have listed them. )
