Synodontis euptera

Hi,

just bought a couple of these guys last week. Both have settled in nicely & appear to be eating the usual foods. spirulina wafers, shrimp pellets & any algae that appears as well as rustling through the substrate after hours for whatever's left over.
Just wondering if anyone has had experience with these & if so, any hints on keeping them happy & healthy? Great fish by the way

regards

I had one for about 16 years, it did fine with a few other Synodontis cats and a variety of cichlids over that time span. They do like to have a cave or similar sheltered spot to claim as their own territory. Clean water and not too low on the pH, juvies will grow to adult size rather quickly. I've seen 2" young ones reach 6-7" in less than a year.

Yep what Todd said
Mine always wanted to share the Gibbys cave(did not make the gibby happy at all ) Was a very interesting fish, their skin pattern also changes as they become adults. He was in a 75 gallon with Clown Loaches and the gibby, after about a year and at 7 inches he went to live in a friends larger tank. I'm so tempted when I see the little guys
Here's a pic of mine before he moved

Thanks for the advice . Great picture by the way. Yeah, I keep reading how big they can potentially get so we'll have to wait & see! They seem to be even more settled now & are appearing alot more during the day, not just night time. They now just have to contend with a Chinese Algae eater that has decided it wants to be boss!
