I bought a featherfin squeaker catfish today and everything is fine but sometimes it seems like it kind of tunes out and will swim in an odd circular pattern slowly from the bottom of the tank up the side glass and then about 3/4 of the way up it will do a back flip and bolt to the bottom of the tank... it will do this for 30-60 minutes straight and then it seems to go back to normal and swim around the tank mostly on the bottom... about a week ago i was looking at the same fish in the pet store. There was 3 or 4 of them and i noticed only one swimming around in odd patterns, anyways i assume i have gotten the crazy one(wasn't acting odd when i picked it) I am just wondering if this behavior is anything i should be worried about or should be taking the fish back and asking for a different one.
I don't think it could be my tank, it is only about a month old and has had 2 danios living in it up until now they are fine and healthy and i use r.o. water that i get from the water bottle business i work at and i do 10% water changes every 2-3 days
I hope this is just common behavior for catfish and its not a defective cat fish haha
