Is there any chance you mean Pangasius, rather than Pegasus? I can't find anything on a fish called "pegasus catfish" on Google or PlanetCatfish, but did find several places asking the same thing I wondered.

If that is what you mean, Pangasius is a genus of catfish that are, for the most part, too large for the vast majority of home aquariums. The most popular species of the genus is the iridescent shark, which does best in groups and reaches over 48" in length.

Not all that sure, I will have to double check with the owner. They are giving me a 55 gallon tank with Tin Foil Barbs, a bala shark and the Catfish. I am not familar with these guys so Im trying to gather all the info that I can on these fish more so the Catfish is the one I am trying to figure out to make sure they will have a happy home!

All of those fish are TOO big for a 55 gallon. And all of the together is really overstocked. You may want to look into selling them to your LFS or to someone with a 120 gal. or larger tank.

Will you still be taking the tank? If you have a LFS that will take the fish, you may be able to get store credit, or a trade for different fish. I was at my LFS today, and now they have GIANT Gouramis. Crazy huge.

Yes, I will still be taking the tank. I dont have a local store that will take them, but there is one about 30 minutes away that is owned and staffed by some great ppl. I will most likely call them tomorrow before I pick up the tank because I wont be far from it. It kinda breaks my heart though and I feel horrible about ditching them. I saw some video on the shark on youtube and omgosh they were freaking huge!!!

On the bright side I have 31 platy fry from one mommy platy that were born yestarday and 40 something this morning from my other platy, the new baby fry will enjoy a 29 gallon once I make sure all is well with the 55 gallon. I am very excited!

I'm in the process of selling mu african ciclids, so I know how you feel. But sometimes you have to do what is right for the fish, no matter how hard it is. Good luck!
