Hi all,

I was curious if a small/young clown pleco would hurt/eat pygmy cory cats or red cherry shrimp?

A clown pleco should leave the corys alone for sure, but I don't know about the shrimp. A molting shrimp is a tasty target for many, many fish... clowns subsist mostly on wood and vegetable matter, but they aren't strictly 100% vegetarians, so I can't say for sure how they react to a defenseless shrimp.

Hopefully someone around here will have a better answer for you.

Thanks, I was mostly wondering for the pygmy cories cause they are so small.

I think to be safe I'll keep the shrimp out of the pleco's way.

Clown plecos are pretty mild fish and won't eat anything unless it was made of wood or food or some sort. Tho they have their territorial moments when someone gets to close to their "spot" in the tank. Just a little shoving to let the other fish know they are getting to close. Kinda cute.
