algae eaters

algae eaters
why do they have such long poops?

Hmmm...Never noticed them poop....kinda gross really..lol..I really can't answer that for ya. But I'm sure someone has a explaination.

It is because they eat lots of junk in the gravel and all the algae and not all of it digests and sometimes algae is long so there is your answer.

Animals who eat low quality food like algae have to eat more or less constantly to get enough nutrition. What goes in must come out!

I've never noticed them poop as they always lie on their front. But they eat a lot and they are big creatures so I guess that explains it.

Notice they're always eating something; be it an algae wafer, left over food on the tank floor or algae off the various plants and surfaces in the tank.
