bumblebee catfish aggressive

so i moved my bumblebee catfish to my 55 gal b/c i have an african clawed frog that is eating my smaller fish. the bumblebee cat does get big but right now its only about 2 inches. so i figured i would move him when he got bigger. he is in a tank with tiger and tinfoil barbs and bala sharks. also waiting for them to get bigger to put them in the bigger tank. then i have a few cory's that will stay and i went an bought a chinese algae eater. one cory died and i bought more. anyways i noticed that instead of 3 cory's now theres only one and no more algae eater, its gone. then i see the catfish and its pretty fat. i honestly didnt think a cory could fit in its mouth b/c its small but i have no other ideas as to where all these fish went esp with the big belly on the cat now. do they eat other fish normally?? i have only heard that they dont get along with other bumblebee cats. maybe i will have to move it to the big tank sooner than i thought!

How big were the cory and algae eater?

There's more than one catfish called a "Bumblebee", but if yours is the one I'm thinking of, it can consume prey half it's size.

Definitely. They are nocturnal predators and will take anything they can catch if it fits in their mouths.

It's also normal for your frog to eat small fish. This is how they live.

It's always better to do research before you buy aquatic creatures. That way there are no unpleasant surprises.

yah i know the frog eats the fish we were hoping that the fish would grow faster than him so he couldnt eat them. so far my catfish is only about 2 inches long. just a baby. the cory and algae eater were only about 1 in or maybe a little bigger. i figured it would eat other fish but i thought it would have to be bigger to eat anything in this tank. guess not i was only told that this one doesnt like others of its kind and it gets to be like 6-9 inches long. i figured when it got bigger i would just throw some feeder guppies in the tank but now i see it will prob be eating goldfish soon!

i think its an asian bumblebee catfish

Feeder goldfish are not necessary, or even desirable since they often are unhealthy and can carry disease.

If you're sure your catfish is Asian, please check this link for some info on proper care and feeding.
