Striped Raphael Catfish?

A while ago my mom got some fish while I wasnt home and put them in the tank. One was a little striped catfish that I fell in love with but didnt know what it was. I was looking on that fish place today and found out he is a striped raphael catfish! does anybody know of these fish? he is a sweet little thing, I think nocturnal he does come out when I feed them though. so...

Do ya know anything about these cool fishys?

They are cool fish.
They get to about 6 inches in length and are very light shy.
They need places to hide during the daylight hours.
They come from South America and are part of the doridae catfish gruop.

I have one, that I never see.......He doesn't seem to cause any problems in the tank, except add to the bio waste, and I question my decision to have him since I never see him....But maybe he works with the night time janitor crew, and is a real benefit....
Time will tell....

My lights are on most of the day, but even in low light he doesn't come out....There is a fair amount of movement in the tank, which may account for his staying hidden even more than most.

Hope you enjoy your Raphie!

Well thats odd, I definatly know that he is a Raphy he lookes exacly like the pic, but once he was aclimated to the aquarium you see him cruising around every once and a while, expecially in the morning when I just fed the fish.

We had a bunch of different raphaels, striped, chocolate & spotted....if they get upset, the croak like frogs sort of lol.
I never saw them ever.

Sounds like a cool fish, but catfish are usually nocturnal or impossibly shy so I don't own any.
