Other catfish photos
Please use this topic to post your other catfish photos (i.e. species that do not have their own sub-forum). I'll leave it stickied so it appears at the top of the posts.
Please use your own photos, and not material from the internet.
Please post your photos as attachments, rather than links.
While your compliments on the photos are really appreciated, text-only posts will be removed after a while to keep the gallery pictures-only. If there is a discussion you do not want to loose, please start it again in a separate thread.
Thanks,
Armadillo

Sabi is correct.
The only info ~I~ have on it is what www.fishbase.org gives. Perhaps Dino will come along later and share any info he may know about them.
Asia: India, Indonesia, Bangledesh, Nepal, and reports of them in Myanmar.
They are very laid back ambushers. They have the wiggly appendage in their mouth to attract prey. When the prey is close enough they open their mouth (which is the entire span of their head) and the water rushing in usually sucks in their prey. We can pick them up out of the tank and walk around the fishhouse with them and they do not try to wiggle away or swim away, and when we put them back in the tank they drift down like a leaf rather than swimming to a location in the tank. (It is a bad idea to keep most catfish out of the water more than a few moments. The Chaca chaca are fine as long as they are kept wet, but it is stressful for them to be handled for more than a moment or two out of water.)

Yes, but they are smart. I hand feed them with a droper and they already know the procedure.
They are also hardy. The one in the pic had his whiskers missing and half of tail when I bought it. I treated it with Triple-Sulfa and everything grew back in a week or so. Amazing ! I am still waitting for my betta-male to fis his tail ...
Thanks.

More information for you on the chaca chaca. Fair warning, I have a book that states that they are predatory, i.e. will eat anything that fits in their mouth. I wish I had known about this fish before my Oscar...I might have purchased differently. In fact, I'm still considering adding one to the family.

I finally got some clearer shots of my latest addition. Sorry if it's not 100% focused as they are so fast.
Anyway, here's a few shots. Enjoy..
