New addition 2 Banggai Cardinals

Well I was at the LFS 2 weeks ago, and they had CB Banggai Cardinals, and now we have 2. I asked to see them feeding on frozen mysis, and they feed well. They have been moved out of the Q tank and are loving the extra room in the main tank. Was tempted to get 3, but the thought of 2 pairing then giving the other one a hard time would have ment removing the odd one out, and finding a new home for him, and that dont seam fair to him.
Will post a pic or 2 today when I GET A GOOD ONE! LOL

Awesome fish and captive bred is a plus. I found it difficult to get mine eating when they were in a tank by themselves (hoping to breed them) they'd only go after frozen mysis. But after moving them into a tank with other fish they started eating flakes after watching the others.

Not the best pic...
Mike, I have done a bit of research on breading seahorses. And had some discussions with Mike from seahorses sanctuary ( breeder )
One issue that came up, was that all frozen fish food that come's into Australia is given a 18hr dose of gamma radiation, this affects the vitamins in the food and in turn affected seahorse mating and fry numbers. I feel this would affect fish in the same way..
BTW, Dont you just love the little twitch they do

Great addition to your tank. Kind of the punk rocker of the saltwater world. How big or small are they ?

They get to be about 2 - 3 inches.

Peterpiper - have you heard the dull knocking noises they make yet? I thought my computer was making the noises but then turned it off and realized it was the cardinals making it. Also interesting about the foods being treated with radiation.

1 is about 1 1/2" and 1 is 1 3/4". The LFS had 15 odd in the tank all the same size, that along with them all eating frozen gave me a level of confidence that they are CB as said by the LFS owner.

Mike, I have some hearing lose, but get the kids to have a listen or do a recording and crank up the stereo!
