Big or Small??

Hey guys. Those who have been reading my thread about my 8 gal planted tank, as soon as its ready, I'll be stocking it with fish. I've been planning cardinals even before I started this tank. A nice planted tank with a school of cardinals. I've visited many stores and have found two stores that sell nice pretty looking ones. But the only difference is their size.

Both stores are selling em at the same price, it's just the size. Should I go for the small young ones? (each young one is less than half an inch so I'll probably keep around 10-15 of them, when they grow bigger, i'll be either selling some of them or giving them away) Or should I get the bigger ones which are 2 inches?

Thanks!

I always go for smaller, younger fish, as long as they are in good health. Younger fish tend to adapt more readily to their new homes as well.

I buy smaller fish, too. It's easier for the bacteria to adjust and I really enjoy watching them grow.

I, too, prefer buying smaller fish. When adult fish are sold by a store, the buyer can never be sure how old the fish are. If you buy a group of healthy-looking adults, they could die a month later from old age despite you doing nothing wrong. Healthy juveniles, on the other hand, should be enjoyable for a longer period of time.
