How active are your Cardinals?

Also how warm do you keep your water?
My tetras are fairly inactive. I keep my water around 82 F. I read in the wild they live between 82-84 so I went for 82. I was curious if others have inactive Cardinals or if it might be my water temp. Thanks!@

When cardinal are well settled in the tank, i found them to be more of shoaling than schooling fish, especially in large quANTITY. iF Water is up to par and eating well, then wouldnt worry too much. If you see a symtoms of disease or changes in eating habits, then more attention should be given in attempts to determine the course of action needed.
How many in what size tank?
Hope all is well!

My cardinals schooled back and forth accross the tank when I first got them in May. Now that they're comfortable they kinda do their own thing until lights out they hang closer together.
Like ceriathus said, they schoal more than school now or do their own thing.
My temp is around 80F

I have 12 in a 20 gallon. No other fish. I have alot of plants they seem to like. Like Lucy said...mine used to swim back and forth together quite a bit but the last few months they mainly hang around under the plants. I do 2- 20% changes per week to maintain the pH as the plants seem to really eat the Kh otherwise and I see large Ph drops. Since I upped the changes the Ph is stable. They are eating well and the colors are good. So I guess they are just comfy.
They will be going into my new (to me) 55 gallon once I get it set up. We will see if more room makes them more energetic. They will have some Otos and Rams for tank mates when it gets settled in as well.
Thanks again both of you!
