I don't know about the safety of your fish, but i do
know that high phosphates can cause algea problems.I used the powder for a while then switched to ph down/up. Finally tired of problems lowering the high ph of my hard water i switched to
RO water. Its 7.0 which is easier to lower you can lower ph about.2 by adding
driftwood (not too old) or you can add peat extract (black water expert), which seriously lowers your ph . Ro water requires additional additives. And ro water requires some thought and trail with your tap water.Discus are xx difficult .WAIT i just looked at your tank if your using ro @ 7.0 your only moving ph .5, you should be able to lower it with driftwood and a few? drops of peat extract. I.m new here too i scrolled down on your post page and thier were articles on phosphates & phos poisioning. thos is a good site.
