are cardinal tetras fin nippers?

I am thinking of keeping a shoal of cardinals with female bettas, just checking to make sure I shouldn't have any nipping problens.
thanks in advance.

I have never heard that. All I've read says they are very peaceful.

i agree too! funny i should come across this thread today, cos i was considering this myself, and asked the man at the lfs what he thought and he said tetras will be fine with a betta....looks like you're decision is made!!!

Heh this is an old post of mine, looks like I didn't know much about Bettas back then. I would never consider keeping tetras with a Betta now, after hearing stories of Bettas being nipped up really bad. Oh and also just so everyone knows I ditched the idea of keeping several female Bettas together...BAD idea! Too many instances of the females killing each other.

bettas really baffle me! i'd love to have one, but dont really want it all alone, but have no idea what could go with it....i hear so many mixed reports! i assume you've sussed them out now and have happy bettas?!

Most Bettas can go with catfish just fine--Otos are probably the best fish to try if you want fish with them, and Cories can work too a lot of the time. I say if you want a Betta, go for it! They're a lot of fun.
