Right now I have a school of 6 cardinals in a 10g. Any suggestions if any of other fish that would be compatable that I can add.

Unfortunately, 6 in a 10 gallon tank is about the limit. The rule of thumb is 1" of adult fish size per gallon. Even if the fish aren't full grown yet you have to count them as if they are. Cardinals can get over 2", which would put you at 12".

This is how MTS starts.....If you want more, you will just have to get a larger tank. Think of it this way. You have a great fry tank, or hospital tank, and you can start planning on the next one!

i have heard that the max is 2 inches and that is amazing if they get that big. In the home aquarium not over 1.5 inches. But maybe you are right if they get that big i am going to have to get a bigger tank! I will need some luck explaining that to my wife

CAN get 2", you are right especially the males are smaller, but you still don't have room for more in a 10 gallon.

I have two females that are over 2".... they are in a 55 and part of a lovely school. Some of my favorite fish.

As for getting along, and new tanks....just find something that is her favorite, and let her get the tank, then it's not a problem. There are just as many women with MTS as guys!
