It's great to know you're happy with your purchase! |

| | Fish Bum | Do you know how compatible they are with betta? I might be interested in a couple as long as they still come with plants.
EDIT: ^ And are compatible with betta of course. Last edited by mmmxpoptarts; November 2nd, 2009 at 05:52 PM.

| | Fish Helper | I dont know if I would recommend RCS with a betta. Normally a betta tank is smaller, & unless its very well planted to give the shrimps available hiding places, i wouldnt recommend introducing them into a betta tank |

| | Fish Bum | would they work in a tank with multiple tetras? |

|
| | Fish Helper | I keep RCS in a tank with multiple tetras with no problems!
they've been housed with neon tetras, black tetras, glowlight tetras, corydoras, plecos, guppies, zebra danios, white cloud mountain minnows, kuhlie and yo yo loaches, & ghost shrimps |

| | Fish Helper | Then the shrimp will most likely be fast enough to evade him. My male betta harrasses everything i put in his tank, if you keep yours in a tank with others and he seems to stay to himself, and the tank is planted, he will most likely not be interested in the rcs either. Ofcourse just as you should do when adding new fish, when you add the shrimp you should feed the fish in the opposite end of the tank to distract them |

| | Moderator | im sorry but a bettas with shrimp are going to be a meal no matter how calm your betta is....it may not happen right away, but it will happen...normal healthy bettas, do not or should not keep to themselves if other fish are in the tank..its not in their nature to do so and if they are, they are stressed or not being happy bettas by nature... |

| | Fish Helper | to put an rcs with a betta is no worse than putting fry in a betta tank. my betta has guppy fry all around him... i always c fry. Last edited by enthusiast; November 16th, 2009 at 08:38 AM.

| | Fish Helper | Agree with Shawnie ... I had to temporary house my betta in with my shrimp tank as I was moving around during my fumigation and during the 3 days my shrimp and betta were housed together I never saw the shrimp come out to play.
Sometimes I saw Melon nip at a shrimp but the shrimp were quicker - They were afraid I felt terrible and as soon as I could I moved things to how they were and they were fine after that
I guess depending on the size of your tank and how good of a hiding space you provide will you test if the RCS will get eaten or not. |
