| if you know the problem is your magnet, and your content with the cansiter filter you have, why not just get a replacement part for your canister filter?
my fluval was makin me so mad it would run good for a few minutes then stop and gurgle all the time, until i realized one of the clamps to the impeller lid had snapped off. $8 & problem fixed! Versus around $250 for a brand new filter!!
Just recently I also had problems with water leaking out around the clamps of the lid no matter how tightly latched I had it. I was even hammering this thing down to make sure it was as tight-fit as i could get it. Simply replaced the motor ring gasket & everything works fine! Another $7, but I'd take a mere $15 in replacement parts over having to dish out another $250!!
I got my parts from ebay, i'm sure you could find what your looking for from there? I also compared the prices I found on ebay with ones found using amazon.com, you'll be sure to get the best deal that way- though ebay won everytime. |
