WTB: 29g or larger tank, Columbus Ga
I need a quarantine tank. I prefer 29 g but will think about other sizes. Hood and light would be a plus but not required - I'm sort of in a gotta have it, fish on the way mode!
Thanks!

Have you checked the craigslist.com postings? also I bought a 20 long tank at petsmart for like 30 dollars for my fry. There are a ton of tanks here in tn on craigslist right now (since we aren't looking for one, go figure)

Thanks...It that always the way (lots when you don't need one) I have looked almost daily on craigslist and in the paper. Nothing. Well there is a 65 for 175 with metal stand, a 20 that housed a rat and is chewed up on the top, a couple of 100s for 700-750. Just not what I need. Of course if one of those hundreds were totally cheap, I'd be on it. (Can you say MTS )
A 20 won't quite work for what I need...I need that and at least one more. I need quarantine space. I have 5 albino greshakeis coming Wed. Tomorrow I have 7 lf albino and 12 reg albino bristlenoses arriving.
Cory has a 10g with one tiny angel fish fry/juvie in it. If he will move her to one of the other tanks, I could use that for a FEW...maybe the LFs or the greshakei juvies (1 1/2 -2 inches). My other son's gf has a 20 she isn't using and I can borrow - so there's room for 10... I always over filter so maybe I could do 12 for quarantine. But I still need room for one more set of fish. Ideally I want to keep 2 pair of each albino for breeding...but they gotta grow up so I can see what I have So I will put one type in the fry 55 and one type in the 29 I hope I will find somewhere! The greshakeis are going in the cichlid tank with a couple of plecos - I don't have a chance for breeding there with cichlid water - at least I don't think.

I actually have a pair of peacock cichlids in my 10g right now at 1 1/2 inch size waiting for the 36g to get empty I usually use it for my "smaller" cichlids when I find them at the store so they can grow a bit, and quarintine them for a while. However, if I remember looking at the plain tanks at petsmart the 29g's weren't badly priced.. we were looking for brooding tanks, actually the cichlid books call for the 30longs for cichlids they have more bottom surface area (thats what my husband has taught me anyways, thats why we got the 20 long for one of our brooding tanks, now I am needing another since I have a ton of yellow lab fry, at least 40 right now and I have kenyi due to spit tomm, my greyshaki male is trying to spawn w/ the female right now, plus the labs are back at it) I am going to have fry coming out my eyeballs before long!! I have to get my 58g tank set up so I can have my 36g tank empty!
-one point to remember w/ the cichlids, they breed like rabbits!!

Yippee! Congrats on all the upcoming fry! I'm on the hunt again today for 29s! Petco was $54.9?. Gonna try a local store as they typically have good prices on tanks - or least make deals. I may try Petsmart if that doesn't pan out.
Do you recall my plan to move the angel juvie? Well, Cory's purple Moscow just dropped - So I had to put her fry in the tank I planned to use for quarantine.
Hopefully my cichlids will breed - I am not counting on the rabbit ratio, but at least every now and then would be nice.
Good news on your greshakei! There should be a good market - we both know how hard they are to find.

Good luck on finding a good deal on a 29g tank! Congrats on the moscows! when I had my guppies I wanted some sooo bad, I wish I had bought some and bred them. They are def my fav guppy! (I might get a trio eventually for my mil since she is finally getting a hang of the uptodate fishkeeping (longstory) ). Thanks, I plan to get a ton of fish that will be hard to get in this area to breed, I have a male Tropheops sp lilac right now, it was a special find the other day, I am needing two females now thats going to be my hardest to aquire trio! Hes a beauty!

Cory will have some Moscow ready in the next few weeks. He's Coryd55 is you want to pm. The parents are from Dino - so they are an excellent strain.
I priced a new 29g and I just can't justify it when I know craigslist will have one (or a size I can use) in the next few days.
Your plan sounds good. hard to finds are more intriguing

I will keep that in mind on the moscows, it would be a great little surprise for my mil! She loved the pics of the moscows in a book I showed her. I know if they came from Dinos fish they are a great strain! Thats what my labs that just bred are, they are some of the most colorful little guys I have ever seen.
I know what you mean about the tanks, there was a 30g w/ stand and all for like 50 on craigslist today. I am always looking.
