Breeding Saltwater Fish - I know wishful thinking, but we gotta start somewhere. Hopefully we can share what we know and learn to improve the chances of other hobbyists routinely breeding saltwater fish!

Very good pics!!. They really are adorable little things. Little clones of their parents. Congrads on the spawn and I'm glad to see that all 5 of them are doing good

aiptasia. I placed the DIY urchin in my refugium to cure (when I first made it), and the aiptasia tagged along.

They are so small, but so perfect. Amazing. I actually teared up a little because they're so darn precious.

** Sorry to double post, but do you know if the parents are tank raised or wild caught?

@iloveengl, thanks !

@charzar-g, believe it or not. Clownfish fry are much smaller. As to the parents origins. I do not know. But if I had to guess, IMO they are tank raised.

really?
I'm always suprised that the tiny little babies don't get lost in the ocean... its so big.. and they're so small! ^^

And thanks about the parents info - I just wondered if it was harder to breed wild caught, which i assumed was, becuase they're harder to keep in general right?

Yes, wild caught fishes have 58-95% mortality rate vs captive bred. Captive bred marines, fish have proven hardier and more able to adapt to aquarium life. They are also much more readily to take prepared foods and have less or no infectious organisms.

Well all five are doing fine. Except tonight the BBS wasn't ready, so the babies have to eat dry food instead. To answer your question, I would estimate their size to be about 3/8".
