Breeding Saltwater Fish - I know wishful thinking, but we gotta start somewhere. Hopefully we can share what we know and learn to improve the chances of other hobbyists routinely breeding saltwater fish!

Breeding clownfish.

I'm planning on buying another tank-bred ocellaris clownfish and need to know what all do I need to do to triger mating. This one will be smaller than the one a have in my tank. Where will the eggs be laid? Do I need to take away the eggs/fry or will the paraents take care of them? What foods should I feed?

Should I get an anemone?? I know there tank-bred so they don't need one but the breeding logs and other research say its better. Is this only needed if its from the wild?

Breeding Clownfish

I have been breeding clownfish for a while now it is actually not that hard. Get rotifers going as soon as possible. Reed-Mariculture has the best ones. You will need another small tank and a lot of patience. As for an anemone, one is not needed but I have seen better results with one. If you can't keep an anemone alive, a coral that resembles one such as long tentacle plate coral or even an open brain coral will work. I have been writing a guide to breeding clownfish. Hope it helps.

Do the parents take care of the fry?
