Breeding Saltwater Fish - I know wishful thinking, but we gotta start somewhere. Hopefully we can share what we know and learn to improve the chances of other hobbyists routinely breeding saltwater fish!

The snagger gently sucks larvae into the snagger with the help of a small powerhead.

After placing the snagger in the water and starting the pump. Take a LED moonlight wrap in black electric tape (with one small pin hole in it) and point it at the slot. This will draw the larva towards the slot and catch them. All other room light must be shut off. Return pump off, water still.

This is ver. #2 in action

Did any black and white variants spawn? How agressive are the captive breed Maroons? This is a bit exciting to me and Id love to try my hand at something like this down the road.

I don't have and Black & White clowns, only maroons. As for their aggression. I feel the captive are just a bit friendlier then wild maroons. Mine are very friendly, except when guarding a clutch of eggs.

Now the first LFS has sold 5 of my babies and wants more ! I told them I stopped breeding for now. It figures, after I broke down all my grow-out tanks there's a demand for maroons now. LOL

Oh, some maroons get darker as the age. Mostly the females. That maroon in the link is dark maroon, not black. Also my white striped female has the same gold first strip, like the one in the photo.

I'm such a visual person (and hands on)when it comes to learning that if you ever do a youtube of this setup and such I'd love to hear about it so I can learn.

A how-to video on catching clownfish larvae. Sounds good, too bad I threw all my snaggers in storage. I will think about it. Maybe when I'm on vacation next month.

Little Nemo is fine. He's I think over one year old now and getting bigger. Very friendly. Likes to splash the water at the surface to get my attention, so he can be feed. LOL I will try to post a photo tomorrow. Thanks for asking.

Another rescue attempt. Hope I can put some meat on his little bones. (crossing fingers) I've had him for almost a month now.
