Breeding Saltwater Fish - I know wishful thinking, but we gotta start somewhere. Hopefully we can share what we know and learn to improve the chances of other hobbyists routinely breeding saltwater fish!

Update:
Nemo is still growing and doing great. (sole survivor clutch #9).

His sibling is also growing and doing fine. (sole survivor clutch #11).

My best clutch of fry has been clutch #12. Here they are.

And clutch #13 was not good. Around 1000 fry hatched. Only two have survived.

Clutch #14 was laid on the 4th of July. I hope to have better luck with these guys. (crossing fingers)

Oh I almost forgot. A photo of my 5 gallon grow-out tank.

Little nemo is an exact copy of his mommy, only he's 1/2" long LOL . As for letting these guys go to AZ or anywhere else ... That's going to be hard. I want to keep them all. LOL They still have a couple more months to grow before I can sell them.

Incredible what your doing... But its just made me realise when I get my clowns I dont want them to make babies (cause I have not got the means to do what your doing) and it would seem cruel to not care for any eggs they may have! How common is it for home aquarium kept clowns to breed? Hmmm should I get just one?

Thanks ! ... Very common if you have a pair. Not common to raise the fry. It's a lot of work.

Ok just been on your Member spotlight which probably answers the majority of questions swimming around my head! Wish I had done that first lol, instead of randomly searching the forums.

Very cool. So...what do you think was the turning point for keeping the fry alive compared to the ones you lost earlier on?

Daily water changes up until around day 7 and no live phyto in the larvae tank. Just instant algae. Also feeding the parents more before spawning helped too. This batch just grew faster than all the rest. I continue to loose whole batches since this one. My last batch all died ( around 1000 ) from the time I collected them at midnight, to the time I whole up in the morning at 7:00 a.m..

My female has stopped laying eggs again. And may not start up again until next year.
