convicts: random pair?

well lately I've been looking for convict cichlids (other than from my petco)
so i could breed, as would like to see fish raise their fry (unlike my live bearers...nomnomnom) anywho, the LFS just down the street has convicts for sale.. and i was there earlier and from what i could tell they had males and females, and i was wondering if i could pick out a random male and random female, and have them breed- being convicts i would think that it wouldn't matter... but i just wanted to check first

THANKS!

actually... what i meant was if i picked a random PAIR if i could get them to breed, as many people/sites recomend picking several then having them pair naturally.

watch the tank for a good 20 mins..you will be able to pick a pair out for sure ...they will be the 2 chasing all the others away..its no garuntee either way of getting them to breed....ive had some males kill fems and visa versa.....but you will be able to see an established pair in the tank if you take the time to watch them
