I breed Guppys for my Oscars & other carnivours. They breed like rabbits, are easy to take care of & don't need much space or any fancy equipment.

convicts & any livebearers are easy and fast breeders....but oscars dont really need live foods but more of a varied diet...I think the live foods are more for us thinking they need that chase ..

Guppies don't need anything flash. A main tank of 10-15gal & couple of 5gals for raising the fry. A few breeder nets for seperating the pregnant females. I don't bother to decorate the tanks I just hang a couple of brand new string mopheads over the sides of the tank. I use simple air driven sponge filters & a cheap aquarium heater in each tank. Bear in mind that that is just for staight up breeding, my guppys serve no other purpose. There's no reason you can't decorate the tank so it's nice to look at if you want to just make sure you have room for breeder nets & that it will be easy to net the pregnant females. I have a ratio of 4 females for every male guppy & I have 4-12 females per tank depending on the tank size & how much food I'm in need of.

Like Shawnie mention Oscars don't actually need live food so don't go feeding it to them too often. Once a week is plenty often enough.
