Just wondering if you could tell me if both males and female platys get dark spots, I noticed they are on the males (watch them chasing and blocking the females) is this normal....woman at the pet store told me they were wildplatys not bred for color...most are just silver with some black blue-ish lines on there sides. Thanks...I want babies to raise.

Both gender can get dark spots. If you look for a board called "Species Specific," there is a subboard for livebearers. After you click on that, there is a sub-subboard that says sexing livebearers and it should show how to sex them.
