HI Guys. It's een a while. But I had to restart my tank recently because I moved to another city. My tank has been established since August and I finally have a red melon discus in my collection and he's doing well. I also had a pair of spawning rams until the female died unexpectedly one day. They spawned twice but didn't fan the eggs as much as I thought they should.The ammonia readings are normal and I don't have the other test kits. But we do a 50% water change every week and all the fish are healthy and happy. The female ram looked like it had a little hole on the side of the belly. What do you think happened to her?

I am sorry you lost your ram. Do you have any pictures?

Oh no sorry. I already disposed of her. But there was a small hole on one side of her. I'd like to get another female but I hope the same thing doesn't happen again. The male has really brilliant colors right now. Do you have any rams?

Hi, Yes I have a Bolivian Ram. I did have a Blue Ram but it died from stress within 24 hours of being brought home from the LFS.

wow. Rams seem to be the hardest fish to keep. Also there were some snails that would be on the rocks that had the rams eggs. Do you think the snails killed the eggs? And would that have affected the female?
