They could possibly be 2 girls. A lot of Cichlids will "pair" up, even if they're same sex. And if two females pair up, one will usually lay eggs which will obviously be unfertilized. How big are they?

They are about 10in long I watched them lay egg's and from what I have learned about the breeding tubes 1 is male and the other is female I think I tried to get a pic yesterday but they would not stay still long will see what happens with this batch.I will try to post a pic of them and the egg's today if they are still there when I get home.

Nick, maybe they need to be introduced to Brute! lol

Congrats on the eggs! Best of luck for some healthy fry. Sometimes parents will eat the eggs that turn white because they are unfertilized or just not viable.

sounds to me that you have either 2 gals as nick said or the man isnt doing his job..white is not good and unfertilized.....if you get a tank batch, have a tank cycled and ready for the rock or slate or whatever they spawn on, put that in the other cycled tank with an air stone very close to the rock/slate etc...keep up with partial daily water changes to keep the water prestine, and making sure the eggs are being fanned constantly with the airstone ....good luck
