The fem guppies are still in quarantine, so I have at least until the end of the weekend to figure this out, but what is the easiest way to set up a breeding tank for guppies/platys/mollies, etc?

All I want is live fry to feed my Jack Dempsey, but the health, safety, and well-being of my breeders is very important to me, so constantly taking females out to put them in the "breeder" is making me feel like I'm stressing out my platy females. Especially since I've done it three times and all three girls shrunk overnight and were released back into the main tank the next day. I'm hoping they were just bloated and I did not cause them to abort. But I don't want "the catching of the fry" to be a two hours process, either.

I can buy a 5 gallon, buy a 10 gallon, or use the empty 20 gallon for the guppies.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

for my breeder tank, its HEAVILY stocked with java moss(a ton of it!) silk leafy plants, & java ferns .... I do not put mama;s in a breeder net...theres so much room for the fry to get away, theres no need...but it is a 30 gal with just 2f gups and 1 m ...of course all their fry that I scoop out daily as feeders....I have all different sizes in there...I would heavily stock with plants the 20 gal and keep them in there to do their business

im DIEING for a day off!!!!! LOL ...the public is tearing me up the last couple weeks...so friday is my mail day and poor lucy is first on the list!!!!!! LOL her moss got the envelope wet (didnt put it in a ziplock) and it wore her addy off hahaha..it came back to me! shes had the patience of a saint tho thank goodness....

Bless both of your hearts! I think the end of the month and full moons always make people act crazy! The drivers around here have taken a definite turn for the worse these past few days.

You're going to scream, but I'm off Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Friday I'm doing some clerical work for my sister-in-law, just to help her out and make a few bucks, but that's only a few hours of my time, so I'm still counting it as a day off.
