Is Caesar Naughty?

I'll be glad when I get a few spawns behind me, because this is just getting weird.

Caesar (striped male convict) was added to my 55 gallon tank with one striped female convict and two (pretty sure they're female) jellybean cons. I checked on Hekyll's eggs (jellybean female) today to see if she'd eaten them assuming they weren't fertile. 90% of the eggs are brown with a little black dot in the center. Does this mean they're fertile? If they are, I don't want to mess with them. But if they're not, I'd like to remove them so they don't get moldy.

I'm kind of confused because I thought Caesar had bonded with my striped female. Are convicts usually "multi-taskers" or are they "loyal" fish?

I know this sounds like fish breeding 101 questions, but this is all pretty new to me.

these fish are going to keep you on your toes! and he will fertilize any eggs ....im sure hes not keeping track whose are whose LOL ...eggs will be white if they arent good in my experience, once a m/f con pair up, they dont tolerate others...even other fems but seeing how he is new to the tank, hes sowing his oats with all the gals probably good luck grammie!

I think we need to change his name to, I don't know, maybe...Hefner?

And you know how I am, if they actually hatch and the babies survive, I'm going to want to keep at least one. I need to figure out where to fit another 20 gallon tank

So white means bad egg, tan/brown means fertilized?

BTW-the pair of young striped cons went into the JD/RTS tank with no problem. Thank you!!!!!

BB....when my Bloody Parrots lay eggs it usually takes a few days before they turn white and then they eat them. Now mine never did have a black spot in the center. Let's hope you have some young ones!
Please keep us posted.

UPDATE: No babies. Both jellys ate their eggs, but they turned white first. Can't find Cleo's because they're "up" in the castle where I can't see, so maybe I'll see something soon from the castle. I just don't want to go digging and get her upset. She's such a sweetie.
