hello everyone
I had a balloon body molly give birth while i was away on vacation and came back and poof!! 13 babies!! yay!!! they are doing great how ever mom died.. she was fine when i left and her babies are the happiest healthy babies i have ever seen. any reasons why the moms sometimes die? i did have someone taking care of the fish while i was away and she said she was fine one day and dead the next. i kinda feel bad cause i really didnt know she was pregnant..Darn balloon bodies lol at least her babies are doing well and they even eat the little powder fry food from my finger after i get it wet to make it sink a bit. soooooo cute!! i absolutely adore them and cant wait to put them in my 30 gallon. some have spots some are pure white one is like a lemony color 3 are black and some are gray. such and odd mix but im very proud of them. it was the best surprise ever to come back to lol

Congrat firefly !! Don't worry man ... as long as those babies still swimming the mum is never truely die ... the legacy lives on ... i watch too much movies...

I had the same thing happen, I took the best care of my fishes fry and went on vacation and came back, only 2 were living. I currently have one molly named star after her mom, Luna

pictures i can try to get lol but i think... i have 13 babies.. sometimes i count 12.. sometimes i count 14.. they swim so fast! and they are only about 3 weeks old but i can sure try lol. i had goldfish and those i could have taken a picture of but i put them in my aunts 9000 gallon pond so they are much better off then the 30 gallon im going to move the babies to

Hello FireFly. Sorry you lost the mom. Sometimes they are very tired after birth, and with the commosion going on in the tank, the males and the other fish stress them out which sometimes leads them to their death
