Do Otocinclus breed in captivity? I love these little guys and would love to have many more.

umm as far as i know they are hard to breed in captivity... most of the time theyre wild caught

They have bred in aquariums, though not frequently, and they aren't nearly as prolific as larger pleco's.

Otocinclus DO actually breed in captivity. Its just not easy as most aquarists dont have the dedicated time or the correctly-sized tank

Your best bet would be to have around ten to a tank of considerate size. It has to be heavily planted. & the water needs to be extremely clean. prestige.
