I have been reading on here and learning a lot about angelfish breeding. We have a pair of angelfish, and have just spawned their 3rd batch of eggs. The first 2 were eaten, but I'm not sure by what. So, the parents were doing a good job, the bigger one fighting away the other fish, and the smaller one fanning them. But, we were afraid they would get eaten..so we decided to take the eggs this time. They laid them on the filter, so we took out the tube and put it into a seperate tank. All we had was a tiny 1 gallon, and used water from the bigger tank. We put a an air thingy on the eggs, and they are not white.
Ok, so we have now set up a 10 gallon, and its cycling, but we used 70% tank water, so it should be ok I think. What I am not sure on, is what now. Some things I may be doing wrong, is that neither tank has a heater on it right now. Do the eggs need to be in heated water or just the fry? When they hatch, and are wigglers (I read that on here..lol) do I transfer them as soon as they hatch or wait until they are free swimming? Should I put a heater in my 10 gallon? What else should I do to care for these eggs to make sure they hatch? What should I feel them when and if they do.
I am sorry if this has been asked, I did try to research it on here first. Is thee maybe a post I missed or article that explains all of this? Thanks SO much!
